Rosa’s Thai started out as a market stall in London’s East End back in 2007, quickly becoming so popular that co-founder Saiphin Moore (below) opened the first Rosa’s Thai restaurant one year later. Since then, it has become renowned for bringing its fresh, vibrant cooking, signature Thai hospitality and Bangkok café vibes to cities and neighbourhoods across the UK.

The 80-cover restaurant will open on George Street, just a stone’s throw away from the Ashmolean Museum. The restaurant’s red exterior pays homage to the first Rosa’s Thai restaurant in London’s East End, while the interiors are inspired by the rich colours and eclectic style of Bangkok. The restaurant’s walls are decorated with photographs and artwork that tell the Rosa’s story which, combined with wooden accents and plants, create a warm, welcoming environment for guests at Rosa’s Thai.

Guests at Rosa’s Thai can feast on curries, noodles, and stir-fries, all freshly cooked to Saiphin’s time-honoured recipes using the best of Thai produce, including chilli pastes from the Huai Yod district and rice noodles from a third-generation family business that has been making noodles for over 80 years.

The menu is bursting with familiar favourites such as spring rolls, pad Thai and green curry, as well as Rosa’s cult dishes from rich red duck pineapple curry and fiery drunken noodles, to fragrant chicken larb and papaya salads. Vegetarian and vegan diners are also well catered-for, with popular dishes including spicy and sour Tom ka soup with Asian mushrooms, punchy Jungle curry with tofu and fan-favourite stir-fried aubergine with plenty of sweet basil – all best enjoyed with Rosa’s bestselling range of bubble teas and Thai-inspired cocktails.

Rosa’s Thai also offers a seasonally-changing menu of specials, a dedicated children’s menu, and a varied selection of gluten-free dishes which, complete with friendly service, makes the restaurant a go-to for all dietary requirements. Rosa’s Thai will be available on Deliveroo for the local area from 7th August.

Of the opening, CEO Gavin Adair says, “We’ve just celebrated our 15th birthday and what better way to keep the party going than by opening this beautiful restaurant. We’re so happy to be joining the vibrant food scene in Oxford and can’t wait to get the doors open!”
