Family-run retailer TT Jewellers has successfully relocated from Northamptonshire to Abingdon, Oxfordshire, with the help of funding from NatWest worth £142,000.

Owner Tho-Thanh Nguyen – known as TT – now has big hopes for further expansion, including hiring more staff and building an online presence.

TT Jewellers is a unique high street feature in Abingdon. It sources gem stones from all over the world, rather than buying in mass produced items.  This means all of the pieces the shop sells are exclusive to it, giving them added value and meaning for customers.

TT founded the business in 2002 after family connections in the jewellery business encouraged him to launch his own shop.  He started out with a tiny store, and now, thanks to NatWest, is a major high street presence in the town.

TT runs the business with his wife, and says that it’s not only what it sells that’s important, but how it’s presented too.

He explained: “Because of how we source our stones, no two of our pieces are the same, and we hand-wrap them so as to present them in the nicest way possible. We want our new customers in Abingdon to feel like the jewellery they buy is special, so we try hard to imbue everything we do with a personal touch.

“Unlike some of the other big high street banks, NatWest understands small businesses; what their needs are, and what they care about. Our business owes a lot to them and it’s safe to say we wouldn’t be where we are today without their support.”

NatWest Relationship Manager, Abdul Sadek, said: “It is great to see TT Jewellers thriving in Abingdon. Since moving here they’ve gone from strength to strength and I’m looking forward to seeing them continue to grow in the future.”
