Specialist IT, data privacy and cybersecurity law firm Clayden Law, has appointed Data Privacy solicitor Anna Clayden, to join their team based in Oxford.
Anna has joined Clayden Law having spent 17 years as in-house Counsel at BP, which she joined following a number of years at leading, multinational firm Ashursts. Having specialised, exclusively, on data privacy matters for approximately eight years, whilst at BP, Anna will be advising Clayden Law’s clients on all areas of data privacy law including, implementation of the General Data Protection Regulation, negotiation of global data privacy terms and conditions, audits, as well as advising on cross-border data transfer issues including EU Standard Contractual Clauses and Binding Corporate Rules. In particular, Anna will be bringing insight into the data privacy aspects relevant to ‘big data’, handling data breach response and resolution, as well as data matters relating to cloud computing and app launches.
In her new role, Anna will deal with a range of business clients, including media, publishing and technology-based companies and will be focusing on implementation of the General Data Protection Regulation and ongoing data privacy compliance matters.

My time at BP has given me valuable insight into client needs and the challenges they face day-to-day. In the coming months, we are all aware that businesses will need to respond to a significantly changing legislative and economic landscape.
