The new bakery, which is located on the town’s Pioneer Square, had a hugely successful first day with locals queueing up before the bakery had opened. On its first day of trading, the store which has created eight jobs in the area, welcomed 499 customers through its doors.

Commenting on the opening, franchisee Robert Crompton, says: “On opening our new Warrens Bakery store in Bicester the first day was hectic, with customers visiting to sample the new range of baked goods, cakes and to sit and relax in the new 55 seater store. Local customers are key to our success and we have tried to provide everything they need to enhance their visit to us with daily papers, free WiFi, instore music, nappy changing / WC facilities and even a selection of toys and books for the little ones. We also have outside seating and local offers running too so we are welcoming all to come and see us at our new Bicester store, there is truly something for everyone.”

Andy Hulbert, Head of Franchise Operations at Warrens Bakery adds: “We are excited to bring the 158 year old heritage and the traditional tried and tested recipes of Warrens Bakery to the thriving market town of Bicester. As the oldest Cornish pasty maker in the world, and the oldest bakery in Cornwall, we are proud to be a part of the growth of British craft bakery. With plans to open 750 stores over the next 5 years, the opening means Bicester’s residents won’t have to travel far to pick up a hand-crimped taste of our iconic pasties, so often enjoyed during holidays by the coast. We are delighted by the reaction since opening.”

Established in 1860, Warrens Bakery has a rich heritage and is proud to put a firm focus on provenance, hand crafted skill and innovation.
